“Probably the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in. Staff was amazing: kind, helpful and always one step ahead of you to provide the best experience. The breakfast was delicious with mostly locally sourced foods. The hotels pledge to sustainability is visible in all aspects. Would 100% come back.”

“Beautiful hotel, super friendly staff, we loved their approach with the little cards to check-in with and take care of yourself. The pool area was wonderful, the pool was heated and good quality sunbeds and towels were available. Loved the afternoon tea & coffee with homemade cakes, - such a nice touch ! The beds were very comfortable and we even had a weighted blanket in the room to try out. Absolutely recommend staying here.”

“This is my favorite hotel that I have ever stayed at, and I have stayed at hundreds of luxury of properties around the world. It was absolutely sublime. Walking into the grand old reception rooms felt like walking back in time, but with all the luxury amenities of a recently renovated 5 stay hotel. It was serene, peaceful, and absolutely gorgeous. I stayed here with my partner for a relaxing week of rest, wine, and reading by the pool. It has all the best that Provence can offer, including a Michelin star restaurant, but still feels like a hidden gem. I especially appreciated the thoughtful way the hotel was restored to leave as much history and charm intact. This was one of the best vacations of my life and I think of it often. 11 out of 10. A masterpiece. Maybe I will plan a wedding here. It was very romantic.”

“I spent New Year's Eve at Château de Fonscolombe with family and it exceeded my expectations. The château itself is an 18th-century beauty, and the grounds are absolutely stunning. Walking through the historic gardens with the chapel, you really feel the history of the place. Inside, the décor strikes just the right balance—elegant and authentic without feeling stuffy or overdone. Our rooms were beautiful just like the public spaces which have been restored with taste and care. But what really made our stay special was the staff. Everyone was professional yet warm, which isn't always the case in today's 5 star hotels. I have to give a special call out to Mademoiselle Juliette, who took care of us during the New Year's Eve dinner at La Table de l'Orangerie. She was absolutely wonderful—attentive, charming, and made sure every detail of our evening was perfect. As for the dinner itself, the chef and his team delivered a flawless performance. Every course was beautifully executed, and you could tell they put their heart into making it a memorable night for all the guests. If you're looking for a really special place to stay in Provence, I can't recommend Château de Fonscolombe enough. It's true hospitality with class. One tip: As the public spaces of such a traditional building cannot be easily heated, think of a second layer for the colder months. The rooms were easy to heat though. Looking forward to coming back.”

“It would be impossible to overstate how amazing our stay at Château de Fonscolombe was. The staff were extremely friendly and exceeded our expectations at every opportunity. They were extremely accommodating of our 15 month old son, not only providing everything he needed in our room, down to kid-sized slippers, to taking him to see the donkeys and hosting an easter egg hunt. The on-site restaurant was excellent, with equally friendly staff and a good variety of choices. The room was perfect, balancing historical charm with modern convenience. We can't wait to go back!”

“This is a unique review for me as I should have given 3 or even 2 stars for our stay but this place could be a 5 stars in the works. To explain: we had some serious problems during our stay with several mistakes in our bookings, wrong plates at the restaurant, forgotten request like babysitter for an evening etc. The pool (see below) heating was poor. Clearly they turned it on too late - this was their opening weekend - At the same time, the place is really lovely. We really loved this castle which kept this relaxed spirit. It might not be as luxurious as some other places but it feels like home. It is quiet, family oriented, the garden are gorgeous. The atmosphere invites you to wind down and just enjoy the place. We really loved it. Same with staff. It has some incredible staff at the reception and valet (Laeticia?) and the housekeeping is maybe the best we have seen. We had to tip them in person as the rooms were not only perfectly clean, they were sorting out our son toys, folding our clothes and putting them in order. Beyond any expectations. But several of the restaurant waiters were bad, and one plain rude when they forgot our booking and made no effort to apologize. So I am not sure how to sumup. But with my wife we said we will go back as we want to believe that if they sort out their staff issue, they have one of the best castle in Provence.”
